Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 20, 2026
Note: This policy is a starting template. Have it reviewed by qualified counsel and tailor the entity name, governing law and processor list to your situation before launch.
This Privacy Policy explains how Walsight ("Walsight", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use our website, browser extension and related services (together, the "Service"). We are committed to handling your data lawfully and transparently under the EU/UK GDPR and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK).
Information we collect
- Account data: name and email address when you create an account or start a trial.
- Billing data: if you subscribe, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Usage & analytics data: with your consent, aggregated product-usage events (pages viewed, features used) to improve the Service.
- Support data: any information you send us when you contact us.
The browser extension
The Walsight browser extension reads the content of Walmart product and listing pages you choose to view in order to display price history, buy-box and fee information on that page. It operates only on Walmart pages. It does not collect your general browsing history, does not read pages on other sites, and does not sell or share your personal data. Any data the extension sends to our servers is used solely to provide the analytics you requested.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain and improve the Service.
- To authenticate you and manage your subscription.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- With consent, to measure and improve product usage.
Legal bases (GDPR)
We rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you sign up for), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), legal obligations (e.g. tax/accounting), and your consent (for analytics cookies and marketing, where applicable).
Cookies & analytics
We use essential storage to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choice. Analytics run only after you accept them in our consent banner; you can decline without losing access to the Service.
Sharing & processors
We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing (Stripe) and privacy-friendly analytics. These processors are bound by agreements to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us. We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active and as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes, then delete or anonymize it.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law (GDPR/KVKK), you may request access to, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls and regular backups) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date.
